Plans for the 2009 eMINTS Winter Conference are underway

Pre-conference workshops will be held on Feb. 4 from 1 - 4 p.m. in Columbia, MO at the Courtyard by Marriott. Winter Conference sessions will be held on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the same location.

We invite all eMINTS or eMINTS4All teachers, eMINTS Instructional Specialists, participants in PD4ETS and LMS in eMINTS schools to submit presentation proposals. You may submit proposals for a 3-hour pre-conference session or a 1-hour presentation. One presenter per accepted presentation proposal will receive free registration to the conference. Certified eMINTS Instructional Specialist will receive two credits towards recertification by presenting at the conference. Presenters are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.

eMINTS participants and grads from Missouri and ALL other locations are welcome to attend the eMINTS Winter Conference as well as to submit proposals for presentations. Please submit your proposal by November 10, 2008. You will be notified by November 20 of acceptance.

Veteran eMINTS teachers and others invited to tegister to submit portfolios

All veteran eMINTS and eMINTS4All teachers who have completed their professional development programs (in Missouri and other states) with certified specialists from the PD4ETS program or eMINTS staff members may find information about portfolio submission and a link to register to submit at portfolio this year at http://www.emints.org/resources/portfolio/ Comp eMINTS and eMINTS4All in Year 2 of their PD (both in Missouri and out-of-state) who are not required by a grant program to submit portfolios but would like to submit may also register on the same page. Upon completion of registration, eligible teachers will be enrolled in an online Moodle course to receive complete instructions and submission information. The deadline for registering is October 15, 2008. Portfolios are due on the same schedule as other FY08 Cohort Year 2 teachers: website is due on February 13, 2009; WebQuest and artifacts on April 10, 2009; lesson plan and artifacts on May 15, 2009. eSchool News shares some great tips for managing all of the e-mail that everyone receives. Remember that you can manage your own eMINTS list e-mail by receiving it in multiple formats from a single post per day (digest) to opting out for awhile (the posts are all archived and searchable).
